Ambassador Bruce J. D. Linghu of the Republic of China (Taiwan) presented a check in the amount of NINE HUNDRED THOUSAND US DOLLARS (US$900,000.00) to Hon. Tony deBrum, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Jack Ading, Minister of Finance of the Republic of the Marshall Islands at Long Islands Hotel on August 15, 2008. The said amount is a special grant from the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the RMI Government for the restoration of Air Marshall Islands (AMI) flight services. Close Up 2008 - 03-28-2008
WASHINGTON, DC – On March 26, 2008, a group of high school students from the Marshall Islands visited the RMI Embassy to the United States as part of this year’s annual week-long “Close-up Program”. RMI Government dismayed by abrupt USAKA Reduction in Force - 03-04-2008

Barely 50 days have passed since the new government settled into its first term of office when it was given notice by the United States of a USAKA Transformation scheme which will have direct and immediate adverse impact on Marshallese employees in Kwajalein Atoll.
