With the joint efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), the ICDF Taiwan Technical Mission (Laura Farm), Ministry of Resources and Development, Women United Together in the Marshall Islands (WUTMI) and OEPPC, a workshop designed to provide intensive trainings to strengthen the horticulture skills for women living in the rural area of the Marshall Islands has been conducted from 26 September to 30 September in Laura Farm.
15 Marshallese women are now participating in the said workshop, and they will be taught by the specialists of Taiwan Technical Mission and local instructors to acquire knowledge and field skills regarding growing fruits and vegetables.
According to the Taiwan Technical Mission (TTM) in Laura, this workshop has been the second one since June and the TTM is planning to organize the next workshop in November 2011.
