Majuro Thursday 10 June 2010 - India Ambassador-designated to the Republic of the Marshall Islands H.E. Yugendra Kumar, and the Indonesia Ambassador-designated to the Republic of the Marshall Islands H.E. Yohanes Kristiarto Soeryo Legowo presented their credentials on two separate presentations of credential to President Jurelang Zedkaia on June 10, 2010 along with their Letters of Recall of their predecessors. Previous week Roving Ambassador H.E. Ratu Seremia Tuinausori Cavuilat of Fiji presented his credentials to President Jurelang Zedkaia.
The Republic of the Marshall Islands and India established diplomatic relations in February of 1997 and the Republic of the Marshall Islands and Indonesia in May of 1993. As such the Republic of the Marshall Islands has many diplomatic relations around the globe, and have mutually benefitted from these countries. Fiji is the fifth country to enter into diplomatic relations with the Republic of the Marshall Islands in 1988. The Republic of the Marshall Islands remains steadfast and committed to its diplomatic partners.
To date, the Republic of the Marshall Islands has diplomatic relations with over 70 countries. Recently, the Republic of the Marshall Islands established relations with the United Arab Emirates on 3 June 2010.
