Presentation of Credential Republic of South Korea Ambassador-designate to the Republic of the Marshall Islands

Zeon Nam-jin Republic of South Korea Ambassador – designate to the Republic of the Marshall Islands presented his letter of credence to President Litokwa Tomeing on February 12, 2009.

President Tomeing welcomed Mr. Zeon Nam-jin and Mrs. Nam-jin to the Republic of the Marshall Islands, informing Mr. Zeon Nam-jin that the friendship between the Republic of South Korea and the Republic of the Marshall Islands “has been a longstanding one.”

“Today, this special friendship continues on as evident by the small, but meaningful community of Koreans here in the islands. In addition, the economic partnership between Marshalls Energy Company (MEC) and SK Networks is ongoing,” said President Tomeing.

President expressed his appreciation to South Korea and to SK Networks for supplying fuel to the Republic of the Marshall Islands and that he is confident that the meeting with MEC Board will be beneficial to the economic partnership.

President Tomeing accepted the letter of credence, saying he looked forward to working with Ambassador Zeon Nam-jin “to further solidify and expand this special friendship.”

The ambassador assured President Tomeing on his commitment to strengthen the bilateral relationship. Ambassador Nam-jin will be stationed in Fiji.
