Majuro Marshall Islands, January 7, 2009 – The Ministry of Health this morning opened an oral health care workshop for more than 25 dental and health care personnel and special needs educators.
MOH Direct for Preventive Health Services, Dr. Kennar Briand officially opened the workshop which he says is geared at;
1 Providing dental and health care personnel skills to adapt basic curative dental services for both the physically cognitively impaired child patient.
2 Mastering culturally appropriate skills for home visits and tooth decay preventive instruction for families of these children
3 And to learn how to access professional and heath education materials on the internet
The three day workshop is conducted by the Ministry through the Targeted Oral Services System (TOHSS) grant project and coordinated by Dr. Ohnmar Tut, TOHSS Director and Dr. Paul Glassman, Professor of Dental Practice and Director of Community Oral health, University of the Pacific.
